Another crackberry contender?

BY THE APPLE GIRL

Blackberry 9780, a new blackberry phone has been spotted. To me it looks like much of the older lineup from RIM. The only visual difference is the chrome bazel which has turned darker in this model. Clearly, RIM is suffering from design paralysis similar to HTC’s name paralysis (more on this later!).

While this RIM phone is said to run OS 6 and 512 MB flash memory, all the other internal spec seems very identical to 9700.

So what does this one have to stand out? Absolutely nothing! Hopefully RIM throws a curve ball at its release by throwing in a new feature to attract the masses.

Well RIM, to win me over from iPhone 4 you will have to do way better than this.

I’ve never been a big fan of the blackberry or understood it’s hype. The Blackberry bold 9780 looks to have the same screen size as the 9700. Since the screen is so small, it makes surfing difficult especially since the device is not touch screen it makes navigation more difficult as compared to an  Android device  or the iPhone (yes that evil word).

However, most blackberry user are corporate users who utilizes it for the email  capabilities and its dependable call quality (unlike drop calls on the iPhone).  Another plus for me is that unlike the iPhone it has an external storage system (microSD), no hassles here if your phone dies, just take our your SD card and you’re good to go.

We’ll have to wait and see to find out what new features if any the Blackberry bold 9780 will bring to the table as compared it its sibling. Nonetheless, it’s going to take a lot more to get me to ditch my Nexus!

  1. for starters RIM can fix the battery cover – it just keeps popping off for no reason!
