Apple iPads are going to hit Verizon stores on October 28, in time for the holiday season. Verizon will bundle the iPad with the “Mifi” device to use on Verizon’s CDMA network. Mifi creates a mobile hotspot that can connect up to 5 devices at a time, which is a pretty good deal for the price (Verizon will carry – 16GB for $629, 32GB for $729 and 84GB for $829 and the Wifi models). But the downside to Mifi is that you will now have to carry an extra device which creates a mobile hotspot for your iPad and you might have to worry about the device’s battery life as well. If you don’t mind carrying an extra device, then this might be a sweet deal.
GoogleChic, are you scared of the Apple domination now? If you are not, then you should be. Apple has quickly realized the growing demand for the iPad and it’s going all out on its inventory and retailers. With stores such as Walmart and Target ready to push more iPads into the market, Android, Microsoft and Blackberry better hit the ground running to stay in the market.

Personally, I think the prices for the iPad at Verizon is a huge deal breaker. If you purchase a WiFi only model from Apple it is $499 as compared to $629 for the 16 GB ($599 for 32 GB and $699 for 84 GB). Are you willing to pay that much more for your iPad just so you can get a MiFi hotspot device? Not to mention you have to pay $20 a month for the MiFi service and as AppleGirl points out you’ll have to carry another device with you.
Why not get the Droid X which has hot spot capabilities and purchase the iPad directly from Apple (that is if you want the iPad that bad)?
AppleGirl, am I scared of the Apple domination? Heck no, the whole plan seems flawed to me!
