It’s probably too early in the smart phone life cycle to be looking for a retro cell phone, but John’s Phone thinks different. Remember those days when we were excited about using the cell phone to just talk?
John’s Phone offers the world simplest and basic cell phone with no extra features or processes. You can make and receive calls, adjust volume, lock the phone and speed dial ..all for $100. It’s an unlocked cell phone, water-resistant, 6 hour talk time with 3 week standby and it comes with earphones, a “physical” address book and pen, and a USB cable. LOL.

If you’re in the market for a rugged phone, you’ll be interested in the Motorola Defy releasing on November 3rd for $99 on T-Mobile. The Defy is built to “defy” the elements so it’s water resistant, dust proof and scratch resistant.
It’s an Android device running 2.1 (Eclair) and since it’s a Motorola device it sports Motoblur as an overlay on top of Android. The hardware specs are not too shabby but not the latest and greatest. It has a 800 MHz processor only but it does have a 5 mega pixel camera and LED flash. It also has a 3.7 inch Gorilla glass display. Honestly, for the price you’re getting your money’s worth plus more.
Check out the video below, it’s proof that the Defy is definitely water resistant and if you’re a klutz like me that’s a big plus. With this phone you’ll be pretty much worry free.
On a side note, the Defy should do fairly well on the market since Oprah endorsed it and gave it away on her show.

If you are a fAndroid, who loves her makeup as much as much as her “Hello Kitty” Tee, got Harajuku written all over you, then try to stop yourself from drooling over this new phone!
Samsung just added a hot pink Galaxy S to its latest smart phone lineup. Samsung has partnered with Aveda, to bring you the limited edition Galaxy S Femme package, which includes an Aveda cosmetic kit and a 4GB microSD card (to save off all your girls night out pictures). Aveda Apps that will help keep your skin super soft and those locks real shiny, come pre-installed on the phone.
Samsung has not released the price on the phone yet (But hang on tight, we will get you the update when its released). It’s rumored to be available in four different variations in US. We are assuming that Samsung will release it on all the major carriers like the rest of the Galaxy S phones. There goes your boyfriend’s or hubby’s “can’t break away from family plan” excuse.
Samsung is making only 5000 of these! So girls, get ready to start swyping away on your super AMOLED!
Love it or hate it? 😀

It seems like news about the Samsung Galaxy S just keeps on coming. The latest Galaxy S phone, the Fascinate and the last to release on Verizon is now the new hype and is predicted to release sometime in September.
So what’s the difference between all of the Galaxy S phones, other than the obvious fact that it’s on different carrier’s?
Here’s the breakdown and our take on each phone.
1 GHz processor
Super AMOLED screen
5.0 Megapixel camera
Android 2.1 (Eclair)
Samsung Epic 4G – Sprint
This is the fully loaded version of the Galaxy S. It sports a full QWERTY keyboard and has a front facing camera, which none of the other Galaxy S has. In addition, it sports a flash as well.
Our take: The best Galaxy S phone for corporate users who prefer a keyboard to hack out those office emails.
Samsung Captivate – AT&T
The best Android device on AT&T. This phone has a more industrial boxy feel. The downside to this phone is that it’s missing a flash.
Our take: The best Galaxy S phone for users that prefer something other than an iPhone; maybe users that are stuck on AT&T because your other half has to have the to die for iPhone and you can’t switch providers! (sound familar anyone?)
Samsung Vibrant – Tmobile
The higher end Android device on Tmobile. This Galaxy S is also missing a flash, otherwise no complains here; nice phone on a very affordable provider.
: The best Galaxy S phone for parents to buy for their kids that are begging for that iPhone but you just don’t want to pay that hefty bill. Probably since they’re milking you dry already between the food they eat and the clothes that they want to buy 🙂 This is a steal for parents especially if you caught the 1 cent deal that Amazon was running
Samsung Fascinate – Verizon
The last to arrive and our favorite. It lacks the front facing camera but it does have a flash.
Our take: The best Galaxy S phone for everyday users. This phone is powerful and lightweight (since it doesn’t have the full QWERTY keyboard). It supports Exchange for your office needs, and playful enough for your after work needs thanks to all the apps offered in the Market.

Want to buy a mobile phone that matches the rest of your accessories? Then we found the perfect phone for you. It is hand-crafted Apple tree wood from the Siberian forests. Every part like the antenna, SIM card, battery has it’s own place in the wooden structure. Jeez, isn’t it a beauty? 🙂
Here’s another wooden but a classy phone from Gresso for Wilma. You will have to first rob a bank to get this one. It costs a whopping $46,000 or a trillion boulders, million rocks and 500 pebbles for you cavemen. The phone case is a 400 year old African black-wood with 23 function keys made of 18 K gold and black diamonds. If you liked it, we know you wouldn’t care of what’s under the hood. But just to let you know, it comes with a 2MP camera, audio, video player and an OS that we HATE! Gresso OS based on Windows Mobile 5.0!!
There is another option, for a total of 10K you can get a his and her matching decked out iPhone 4 (from our blog last week). Gresso can pimp it with 200 year old African blackwood, branded Apple made of 18K gold and last but not least decorate it with Swarovski crystals. Or if you want to go all out, there is always that million dollar Gresso jackpot we drooled over last week. 🙂
