Amazon drops Apple TV price to $89 and tags it as 2010 edition

 BY THE APPLE GIRL

Amazon just dropped the price of Apple TV by $10 selling at $89 with free shipping, matching its brick and mortar competitor Best Buy who are also selling it for $89 with free shipping. What’s interesting is Amazon has named it as the 2010 edition. Is there a new Apple TV on the horizon? Apple TV currently supports 720p widescreen video and features such as Netflix, Flickr, Mobile Me, iTunes movies and TV shows along with Airplay support. Airplay is it’s best and exclusive feature. If you already have an iPad and iPhone at home, buying Apple TV is a no brainer.

There is a lot of potential in Apple’s pet project, like integration with Apps and iCloud, web browsing, and Siri. Let’s hope to see it all materialize in the next release. For now, this is the best deal on Apple TV since Apple products hardly ever go on sale.

iPhone 4S launches in US, Woz waits in line

 BY THE APPLE GIRL

US Apple stores have started selling iPhone 4S since 8 AM this morning. As expected people have been in line at many stores  around the country since yesterday. MacRumors reported over a 100 people in line at Apple’s Shibuya store 11 hours before launch time and a 100 people in line at the Paris store. Additionally, Verizon, Sprint, AT&T store will also carry iPhone 4S today. Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Radio Shack and Sam’s Club are also expected to carry some.  NBC11 reports that Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple, showed up at his local Apple store on Thursday and said he would wait there overnight, although he had two phones coming to his house.

BuisnessWeek yesterday reported that iPhone 4S was sold out on AT&T, Verizon and Sprint online stores. They are offering shipping times of 3 to 4 weeks up from 1 to 2 days.

iPad 3G now $30 less at Best Buy

BY THE APPLE GIRL

Best Buy has just reduced its prices on iPad 3G models by $30.

Apple iPad WiFi + 3G 16 GB: $599 (Regular price $629)

Apple iPad WiFi + 3G 32 GB: $699 (Regular price $729)

Apple iPad WiFi + 3G 64 GB: $799 (Regular price $829)

It is interesting to note that only the WiFi + 3G is on sale, not the WiFi only. I would just wait for iPad 2 rumored to release in the next few months.

iPad Doorbuster!

BY THE APPLE GIRL

TJ Maxx’s doorbuster $399 deal for Black Friday was the best iPad deal this year. However, if you are still out for some holiday shopping then Bloomingdale’s is offering a free iPad when you shop $1500 worth of Y.E.S contemporary sportswear at the Manhattan Bloomingdale store on Dec 10 – 12.

Spending that much money on sportswear might be a stretch for some of us, but if you are in the market to buy outfits for your soccer team, then you’ve got an awesome deal on your hands! 🙂

Ouch for $1500 I would rather buy the iPad 🙂 That is pretty steep for sportsware (which you probably wont’ even wear to work out ;))

On the other hand, if you want to sign your life away to a 2 year contract to one of the major carriers (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-mobile) then you can get a free Android phone. Personally, I think the Droid Incredible is probably your best bet. Check out the deals at bestbuy.com.
